Obituary of W.B. Arrington
Services for Winfred B. ‘Wimpy’ Arrington, 89, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home, officiated by Darrell Hatley. Graveside and Masonic services will follow at Boyd Cemetery in Boyd, Texas. Pallbearers are Joe Smith, Joe Lipe, Harry Clark, Husky Morrow, Daryle Cash, and Tom Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are the Boyd Lodge Degree Team. The Masonic team consists of Wm Greg Arrington, SW Joe Gilliland, JW Rick Scotto, and Chaplain Tommy Williams. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, December 2, also at the funeral home. W.B. passed away Saturday, November 30 at home.
W.B. was born December 9, 1929 in Wise County, Texas to Burrell and Ola Lee (Nesmith) Arrington. He worked for 13 years as a plumber, even owning his own company. He also had a dairy farm for 18 years. He also bought and sold cattle for several years. But he’s probably best remembered as a sheriff’s deputy for the Jack County Sheriff’s Office, serving in law enforcement for over 20 years.
On December 10, 1994 he married Sibyl (Marlett) Todd. The couple were members of Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
He leaves behind his wife, Sibyl (Marlett) Arrington of Bridgeport; son Eddy Don Arrington and wife Linda of Houston, Texas; daughter Sherry Jackson and husband Bob of Euless, Texas; sons Jerry Hartsell and wife Sharon of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mike Hartsell and wife Christy of Bridgeport; grandchildren Michael Arrington, Christy Arrington, Garrett Arrington, Kelly Jackson, Traci South, Scotty Hale, Jessica Henson, and Josh Hartsell; and 11 great-grandchildren.
W.B. was preceded in death by his parents, and daughters Shirley Hale and Deborah Arrington.
