Obituary of Sue Craddock

Sue Ann Craddock died on September 4, 2017 in Decatur, Texas due to complications following lung cancer. She was 72.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Sue Ann Craddock’s life on September 11, 2017 at 10:30 am at Paradise United Methodist Church in Paradise, Texas. A graveside service will take place on September 13 at 2:00 pm in Andrews, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, September 10 from 4-6pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport Texas.

Sue Ann was born on May 23, 1945 in Vincennes, Indiana to Graydon and Mary Jo (Sturgeon) McDaniel.   She married Bill Craddock in 1975. The Craddocks lived in Anthony, New Mexico, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Enid, Oklahoma, Garber, Oklahoma, Mutual, Oklahoma, Newcastle, Oklahoma, Cypress, Texas, and Deming, New Mexico.

Sue Ann was always a rancher’s wife, while at the same time pursuing a career as an oil and gas executive.  She entered into the oil and gas industry at El Paso Natural Gas in 1965 as a legal secretary and rose to the executive ranks by demonstrating her exacting perfection and attention to detail.  Her hard work was rewarded by success in the industry where she was highly recognized as a female executive in the oil and gas industry, ultimately culminating in the operation of Chisos Oil and Gas, Inc in Deming.  She ran Chisos, achieving success year after year, working tirelessly and passionately until her death.

She was a quietly generous woman, whose philanthropy reached throughout New Mexico, Texas and beyond.

Sue Ann was a loving wife and nurturing mother.  She was an outstanding cook and cooked pounds of beans for ranch hands and family members for years, each pot stirred with love.

Sue Ann is survived by sons David Craddock and wife Michele of Keller, Texas, Jay Craddock and wife Patricia of Bridgeport, Texas, and Manuel Sandoval and wife Charlotte of Deming, New Mexico; brother Bob McDaniel and wife Vickie of Princeton, Indiana; and grandchildren Amy McCauslin and husband Mitch, Troy Craddock, Jamie Craddock, Cassady Craddock, Camryn Craddock, Travis Young Cate Young, and Aubree Sandoval; and her beloved Alicia.
